Job Description

The Content Development Specialist works closely with the department director and vice president and acts as a lead developer of content across all communication channels, including social and traditional media, website/blog, print, event communication and public relations.  Duties include ideation, research and development of content needs, topics and sources, all with a focus on finding and managing the client’s voice. This position will also assist in media relations and new business outreach.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and develop informative and persuasive content for client and agency products and services
  • Assist in developing and executing results-driven public relations, social media and product launch campaigns
  • Write media advisories, press releases, fact sheets, blogs, newsletters, award submissions, executive talking points, internal communication and other messaging for both the agency and a variety of clients
  • Draft social media content and manage various platforms, including community management, influencer engagement and reporting
  • Ability to create content across various platforms based on SEO tactics and inputs
  • Edit and proof team content in various formats for grammar, impact and brand voice
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to develop technical content
  • Assist with new business proposals and existing client strategy as needed
  • Other responsibilities as requested

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism or a related field
  • 3-5 years public relations/communications experience – agency experience is a plus

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and project management skills
  • Strong media relations skills; proven track record of success advancing technologies and/or corporate agendas among press and key influencers
  • Social media savvy - using social media channels to advance communications goals/initiatives
  • Ability to quickly prioritize and react to changing market dynamics and developments and communicate priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
