Job Description

BIG YAM is seeking an Account Director with experience in providing strategic direction to deliver high- quality solutions to our clients in order to help them achieve their marketing objectives. The Account Director must be a multi-talented, dynamic individual with stellar client skills, a killer grasp on strategy, research, integrated marketing and a great team attitude. 


  • Lead insights and planning consistent with client goals by partnering with creative and account management peers to develop ideas at all points of client contact
  • Orchestrate strategic planning and research activity for accounts, ensuring deliverables are met efficiently
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with clients and give them insights into the dynamics of their business through the development of sales, marketing and consumer analysis
  • Stay abreast of current strategic planning tools and enhance the process through specific planning, proprietary information and a level of insight that can be injected into the entire process
  • Actively consult with clients regarding digital marketing efforts, content, audience segmentation and technology selection         
  • Help clients overcome challenges when pursuing marketing strategies to meet KPIs, drive traffic, increase conversion, increase average order size and visitor loyalty
  • Create effective marketing strategies and work collaboratively with the digital and creative teams to develop and execute strategies
  • Manage program execution and financial performance while ensuring that overall strategy is sound and on point
  • Develop, maintain and communicate individual project schedules; this includes the scheduling of internal reviews, creative review, QA review and client review
  • Manage all aspects of project production including kickoff, requirements analysis, development, testing, training, launch and reporting/measurement
  • Define scope of work for the production of projects, websites and integrated campaigns by providing time and cost estimates, with assumptions clearly stated
  • Keep the team motivated, focused and proud of contributions
  • Manage and lead client accounts internally through billing, profitability, AR, etc.
  • Communicate daily with clients to ensure understanding of their needs     
  • Write excellent Creative Briefs and comprehensive Strategic Marketing Plans        
  • Work with key agency departments to plan and ideate campaigns that are on strategy and budget
  • Confidently pitch new projects to their clients, either alone or with colleagues
  • Provide insight into creative work for clients to understand quickly why it's good for their businesses
  • Track time, budgets and project milestones within our project management system, Advantage

Experience and Education Required:

  • Senior-level Advertising Agency or Brand experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising or equivalent work experience
  • At least 7+ years of agency experience; specifically in Branding/Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Research to positively impact business efforts
  • Solid ability to think creatively and analyze deliverables
